Castaways is located at the entrance of the popular and lively St Lawrence Gap on the South coast of Barbados. February 2020 will mark 4 years of operation for Castaways and we are proud that we have won many fans locally as well as visitors from around the world because of the location, food, drinks along with friendly & professional service. We work very hard to ensure standards are kept at the highest level for a great customer experience and we always look forward to welcoming back past guests as well as introducing new customers to Castaways. The restaurant overlooks the picturesque St. Lawrence Bay; the only bay between Bridgetown and Oistins on the south coast of the island. The Caribbean has long been renowned for its exotic dishes that tantalize the palate. At Chicken Barn we have uniquely adapted the method of cooking poultry that was used by the Arawaks and Buccaneers in this region centuries ago. Instead of smoking strips of meat over a “buccan” or barbeque, we have perfected this healthy culinary process of slowly cooking our birds over a keenly regulated open flame in our rotisseries thereby allowing the specially prepared seasonings and herbs in each bird to penetrate the meat giving it a mouth-watering flavour that is reminiscent of the past - an authentic Caribbean experience in every bite. This is rotisserie at its best!
